Rick Berry, owner of the Michigan Toy Soldier Co. (http://royaloak.patch.com/listings/michigan-toy-soldier-figure-co) in Royal Oak, was sentenced to 10 months in prison and probation for running up nearly $200,000 in charges on Hollywood director Peter Jackson’s credit card.

According to court records, Jackson used his American Express card in 2007 to buy items online from Berry's store, which specializes in historical miniature models of toy soldiers.

Then, between 2008 and 2009, Berry submitted $189,902.22 in unauthorized charges to Jackson's American Express card, court records show.

This was not a first.

According to court records, Berry was convicted in 1993 of creating false charges on merchants' accounts without any real sales to warrant the charges.
