Here's a couple of interesting designs the Germans were considering at the end of war.

The first is a two man tank with a "double barreled shotgun" for firing shaped charges at significant ranges. Link:

The second is the "Black Wolf" that the SS wanted. Think improved Panther with an IS-3 turret. Link:
