Default For the Week of May 10, 2009

We're a little late this week due to the celebration of the marriage of one of our KG brothers. Best wishes Steve and Michelle!

Another big event in the last few days was the release of the Star Trek prequel movie. That event inspires our first selection, the Corgi Corgi Klingon Bird Of Prey - 40TH Anniversary. The Airplane Shop has it for just $10.95.

Polished raw casting of this fantastically detailed die-cast replica. Ship mounted on lights and with many different settings. Presentation box features star charts of the Klingon Empire.

Back on Earth, we turn to our armor picks this week. The first is a good selection for the budget minded. For just $7.77 from Diecast Direct you can get a 1:72 scale Forces of Valor U.S. M4A1 Sherman w/Mine Roller "Normandy 1944.

Diecast Direct won't let me show you a picture, but you can link to it here:

Our last pick this week is the Spad XIII 1/48 Die Cast Model Capt. Charles J. Biddle, 13th Aero Squadron, 1918. Military Issue can put it in our kit bag for just $23.95.

Replicating the colorful SPAD XIIIC-1 flown by 7-victory ace Capt. Charles J. Biddle of the 13th Aero Squadron, U.S. Army Air Service, in 1918, this limited edition, 1/48 scale die cast model features simulated fabric surfaces, real wire bracing, a detailed radiator and a rotating propeller, a figure of Biddle in the cockpit, authentic markings including a commander's tri-color band and the Grim Reaper with a bloody scythe on the fuselage, and more. 6¾" wingspan; arrives ready to display on the included stand.

It's over there:
