Default Mystery of the Abbey

Mystery of the Abbey

Players 3 - 6
Ages 8+
Time: 60-90 minutes

Mystery of the Abbey is set somewhere in a medieval European Templar Abbey. The players are weary travelers and stop at the Abbey seeking a place to rest for the night. The next morning the peace of the Abbey is disturbed by someone finding the body of Brother Adelmo at the foot of the cliff under the Abbey. Did the normally sure footed Brother slip? Or did he have some help? Its up to you and your band of friends to figure it all out!

Mystery of the Abbey is Days of Wonders {DOW} game of "Whodunit". Players search the Abbey for clues, work independendly of each other, and collectively, question the fellow Brothers and each other and become immersed in the dynamic intrigue of trying to solve the mystery of how Brother Adelmo fell to his death.
I must say from looking at the game components DOW out does themselves again in the high quality products it continues to produce. The mapboard and cards are full of beatifull color and look to be of very high quality. Once again DOW goes the extra mile and uses beautiful wooden dice with engraved symbols on it so the paint will never wear off. A nice touch from a high class operation as far as im concerned. The player aid cards and rules booklets look to be of high quality too. The look like they were printed on Vellum or Papyrus. Without accually having a copy of the game i cant vouch for the quality but im sure its top of the line.

There has since been a small expansion for the game, The Pilgrims' Chronicles, which adds new cards, events and some new rules to lace even more intrigue and interest into an already wonderful game. This expansion is included in the newer copies of the game that are being made now. So if you have an older version, you can get a free copy of the expansion, all you have to do is pay s&h. One more sign that DOW is to be admired and respected as a top notch game company.

This game easily slides into number 3 on my boardgame wish list. Right behind "Shadows Over Camelot" at # 2 and "Cleopatra And The Society Of Architects" at #1. Of coures all the games are made by DOW.
