So....the release date for CMBN is rapidly approaching. I had completely forgotten about this and ran into it when looking at the Wargamer forum. I just spent an hour or so reading about it and I'm starting to consider a pre-order.

Has anyone else been thinking about this?

Having seen how CMSF was released, I will not be pre-ordering. I'll try the demo and make a decision.

My educated guess is that CM:BN will be a much better product upon release than the disastrous initial release of CMSF--now almost 4 years ago. The question for me will likely be: is this a game design I will really like? CM x 2 is a RT engine that can be played in WeGo and has gone down in scale in multiple ways. I will be watching the Tac AI in the demo.

I'm also not wild about the new (or old) BF DRM. However if the game is good enough, it won't, by itself, stop me from getting the game.

I also have Shock Force and all the Modules plus CMA (Afghanistan)
We Go for CMSF isnt too bad and you can go pretty big on battle size in we-go
But I think Normandy is going to be like a Close Combat/Combat Mission Hybrid
in Real time meaning very small fairly quick battles.
The larger ones will obviously be best suited for We-Go

It appears that CM:BN will be released on or about April 29th (and supposedly no later than the second week on May--2011 that is), according to info from BF and this:

http://games.gamepressure.com/game_info.asp?ID=16125

So CM:BN and PC:Ostfront will released at almost exactly the same time.
