They got some Mig-21's too!

Swamp has a soft place in his heart for the Phantoms--especially those in camo!

Like there could be any other outcome, the F-4s wailed on the Mig-21s also...

Agressive spirit, superior tactics and training, which still holds true today.....

Wife is off to an X-Mas party tonight so I can watch last night's episode along with the Civil War Journal from this morning. Looking forward to tonight's episode on the P-51. Wish they'd get one on about the P-38!

If you missed the history channel's Dogfight series last night, you missed a great show.
It was on the 332nd Fighter group's P-51s vs. ME 109 and FW 190s.

Lee Archer making ace was also a highlight.

The 332nd has a special place for me as I was a "Redtail" of the 332nd Air Expeditionary Force while stationed at Balad AFB.

Eyes right

It was a good show. I've been amazed seeing it happen in the show last night and a couple of times in other episodes this week where guys got so wrapped up that they actually flew into the ground while dogfighting.

Yea, the MIG-29 was as good as shot down when he decided to split ess at too low an altitude and ate the scenery, the Eagles had him cornered, and running scared.

The Foxbats were toast before they were even in range, they are fast as hell but cant turn.

One common theme I noted in Korean and Vietnam air battles was enemy pilots leaving their comrades to save their own skins.
